About Mike Brennan

Creativity didn't leave. I did.

For nearly ten years, I stopped making art.

Life got busy. Burnout set in. Eventually, that season turned into depression, and I lost connection with a part of myself that had always been there.

The artist in me never disappeared. I just stopped listening to him.

Then one question changed everything.

What if I simply started again?

Not with the pressure to create something great.

Just the commitment to show up.

One piece of art.

Every day.

That decision became a daily creative practice, and over time, it changed far more than my artwork.

It changed how I saw myself and how I approached my work. It impacted how I connected with other people, and transformed how I lived.

Today, more than a decade later, I'm still creating every day.

Not because I have to.

Because it's become one of the ways I stay connected to myself.

What I Believe

I don't believe creativity is reserved for just artists. I believe it's part of being human.

When we stop creating, we often lose touch with more than our imagination. We lose touch with our curiosity, our confidence, and even our joy.

And sometimes, even ourselves.

That's why I often say:

Creativity isn't something we visit. It's something we practice.

A creative practice isn't about perfection. It's about paying attention. It’s about showing up and making space for ideas.

It’s allowing that practice to shape who we're becoming, even as we’re creating.

How I Share That Practice

Everything I do grows from the same belief.

As an artist

I create original artwork inspired by everyday moments, people, places, and stories. Every piece of art is part of an ongoing practice that reminds me to stay curious, notice more, and keep showing up.

As a creative guide

I speak, write, lead workshops, and create resources that help people reconnect with themselves through creative practice. Whether I'm speaking to a room full of leaders, leading a workshop, or encouraging someone through the Daily Creative Habit™, my goal is always the same:

To help people discover what becomes possible when creativity becomes part of everyday life.

A Few Things About Me

I studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

My artwork has been collected by individuals and organizations and has appeared in places like the Ronald McDonald House and the I.D.E.A. Museum.

I've had the privilege of working with organizations including Heineken, Chase, and schools, conferences, and communities across the country.

But honestly?

The accomplishment I'm most proud of isn't a client list. It's showing up one day at a time for more than a decade. Because that's where every painting, every book, every workshop, every keynote, and every conversation begins.

Maybe this is your way back.

Whether you came here because of the artwork, a keynote, a workshop, a book, or simple curiosity, I'm glad our paths crossed.

If you've been feeling disconnected from your creativity, I hope you'll discover what I've learned over the years:

You don't need to have it all figured out or need more talent. You just need a place to begin.

Sometimes one small creative practice can change far more than what you make.

It can help you reconnect with yourself.

And from there, it has the power to shape everything else.
