Build a Creative Practice That Lasts.
Daily Creative Habit™
There was a day I almost didn't come back to art.
After nearly ten years away from creating, I found myself sitting alone in a Starbucks with an old sketchbook and a pen. I honestly wasn't sure if I could still draw. The first thing I attempted was a simple coffee cup sitting on the table in front of me.
It was… terrible.
My hand felt rusty, my confidence was gone, and my ability wasn't what it used to be. I remember feeling embarrassed, even though no one around me cared what I was doing.
Then I realized something that changed everything.
That drawing wasn't a test of whether I still "had it." It was the first step in a much longer journey. If I judged the entire journey by one awkward sketch, I'd never come back tomorrow.
So I came back the next day.
And the next.
That one coffee cup became Day One of a daily creative practice that has now lasted for more than a decade. Along the way, it has shaped not only my artwork, but also my books, my speaking, the workshops I lead, and the way I move through the world.
Daily Creative Habit™ grew out of that experience.
It's not about becoming a professional creativet or adding another task to your to-do list. It's about building a creative practice that helps you reconnect with yourself, one small step at a time.
My day one drawing
Most people don't lose their creativity. They lose touch with it.
Life gets busy. Work demands more of us. Families grow. Responsibilities pile up. Before we know it, the creative parts of ourselves get pushed further and further into the background. We tell ourselves we'll get back to it someday, but someday has a way of drifting farther away.
That's why I believe creativity isn't something we visit. It's something we practice.
A creative practice isn't about making masterpieces. It's about making space. It's a way to pay attention, stay curious, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that often get buried beneath the pace of everyday life.

The goal isn't simply to make more art.
The greatest gift my daily creative practice has given me isn't a body of artwork. It's a different way of living.
I'm more curious than I used to be. I'm more willing to try something before I know exactly how it will turn out. I've learned to embrace progress over perfection, and I've discovered that showing up consistently matters far more than getting it right every time.
That's what I hope Daily Creative Habit™ offers you.
Not because I think everyone should become an artist, but because I believe everyone benefits from living a more creative, connected, and courageous life.
Begin where you are.
You don't need the perfect sketchbook or the perfect idea. You don't need more talent or more time before you can begin.
You simply need a place to start.
If a terrible drawing of a Starbucks coffee cup could become the beginning of a completely different life for me, imagine what one small creative step could become for you.
